Terms & Conditions

1. Insurance Coverage

All vehicles are insured under the vehicle owner's policy.

Vehicle Protection

Coverage includes damage to the vehicle up to its insured value, including full replacement where applicable.
A deductible of up to ¥500,000 applies per incident.
Damage to third-party vehicles involved in an accident is also covered under this policy.Damage covered up to the vehicle's insured value

Third-Party Liability

Coverage is provided for bodily injury or death caused to third parties, up to ¥50,000,000 per incident.

Non-Covered Items (Exclusions)

The following are not covered under the insurance:

• Dangerous or reckless driving, or unlawful activity

• Tire-related damage

• Loss or misplacement of vehicle keys

• Damage from negligence or failure to follow instructions

Additional Charges

• Non-operation fee of ¥10,000/day during repair period

• Diminished value compensation may apply for structural damage

Alternative Coverage

Guests may opt to use their own insurance, provided it fully covers the vehicle’s value.
Valid proof of such coverage must be submitted and approved prior to driving.

2. Cancellation Policy

Guest-Initiated Cancellation

If a booking is canceled for personal reasons, the following applies:

• 7 days or more prior: Full refund

• 3–6 days prior: 50% refundd

• Within 2 days (including same-day): No refund

No-Show Policy

Failure to attend without prior notice will be treated as a same-day cancellation and is non-refundable.

Rescheduling

Changes may be accommodated depending on availability.
Requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled tour may not be accepted.

Operator Cancellation (Force Majeure)

SIDEWAYS reserves the right to cancel or suspend the tour if conditions are deemed unsafe, including but not limited to:

• Severe weather (typhoons, heavy rain, snow, earthquakes, strong winds)

• Traffic restrictions

• Closure of key locations (e.g., Daikoku Parking Area)

In such cases, guests will be offered:

• Priority rescheduling, or

• A full refund (including any deposit paid)

SIDEWAYS shall not be liable for any external expenses such as transportation or accommodation.

Tour Adjustments

Routes and experiences may be modified due to real-time conditions such as traffic or weather.
Equivalent alternative experiences will be provided without refund.

Late Arrival

Late arrival due to traffic conditions or other unforeseen circumstances may result in a shortened or modified experience. No refunds will be issued.

Deposit

Deposits will be returned after completion of the tour, subject to vehicle condition and compliance with all terms.

3. Participation Requirements

• Basic English communication ability required

• Drivers must be 23 years of age or older

• Passengers must be at least 6 years old

• A valid International Driving Permit (1949 Geneva Convention) or official JAF translation is required

• A passport copy must be submitted in advance for identity verification

Safety & Conduct Rules

• Excessive revving, loud music, or disruptive behavior is prohibited

• Drivers must be experienced with manual transmission and right-hand drive vehicles

• Drivers must understand Japanese traffic laws and road signage

• Physical contact with other vehicles (including sitting or leaning on them) is strictly prohibited

Liability & Responsibility

Dangerous driving, traffic violations, or failure to follow instructions will not be tolerated.
The driver accepts full responsibility for any damage, loss, or consequences resulting from such actions.

4. Privacy Policy

SIDEWAYS Inc. handles personal information in accordance with applicable laws and internal policies to ensure safe and secure service delivery.

Information Collected

We may collect:

• Personal identification details (name, contact, address)

• Passport and driver’s license information

• Emergency contact details

• Photos and videos taken during the experience

Purpose of Use

Collected data is used for:

• Booking management and service delivery

• Identity verification

• Payment processing

• Safety and incident response

• Customer support and service improvement

• Marketing and communication

Third-Party Sharing

Information may be shared only when necessary:

• With user consent

• For payment processing

• For insurance and operational purposes

• When required by law

International Transfers

Data may be processed outside Japan through secure service providers.

User Rights

Users may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data, subject to identity verification.

Cookies

Cookies are used to enhance user experience and analyze usage patterns.

Pricing

Tour prices are displayed on each booking page (tax included).

Payment

Payment is processed via credit card or PayPal at the time of booking confirmation.

Service Delivery

The tour will be provided on the scheduled date and time selected by the customer.

Cancellation & Refund Summary

• 7+ days: Full refund

• 3–6 days: 50% refund

• ≤2 days: No refund

• No-show: No refund

Tours may be modified due to external conditions.
Equivalent alternatives will be provided where applicable.
